Dr. Ken Zucker is Psychologist-in-Chief and Head of the Gender Identity Service in the Child, Youth, and Family Program. He is a Professor with the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Toronto.

Areas of Research

Dr. Zucker studies psychosexual differentiation and its disorders in children and adolescents. In the Gender Identity Service at CAMH, he and his team of scientists conduct research on children and adolescents who meet the DSM criteria for gender identity disorder. This research focuses on diagnosis and assessment, associated psychopathology, causal mechanisms, and long-term follow-up. Dr. Zucker also studies psychosexual differentiation in infants, children, and adolescents born with a disorder of sex development (physical intersex condition) with colleagues at the Multidisciplinary Urogenital (MUG) Clinic at the Hospital for Sick Children. Their research includes systematic studies of specific disorders of sex development (DSD) conditions with regard to psychosexual and psychosocial adjustment.
