Tenant rights and responsibilities
When you are helping someone find or keep housing, it is important to help him or her understand the rights and obligations that apply in the situation. A housing crisis may arise because a tenant's rights have been violated or because the tenant has failed to live up to (or doesn't understand) his or her responsibilities as outlined in a lease or other agreement--or sometimes, a combination of both.
