Educating Students about Drug Use and Mental Health - Ready-To-Use Lesson Plans for Your Classroom - Curriculum Guide
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) has developed lesson plans in English and French that meet the expectations
of the substance use and abuse component of the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum.

By selecting the appropriate Grades above you will find:
- A template for the grade-specific unit and lesson plan, including:
- the overall learning expectation
- the specific learning expectations
- process for connecting the achievement
- level category to the learning expectations
- the evidence of student learning
- the assessment tools
- teaching/learning strategies (see Lesson Plans)
- Lesson plans for the grade, usually with one lesson per specific learning expectation, include:
- "Specific Learning Expectation" (for each lesson)
- "Background Information" for the teacher (usually overall learning expectations of each of the previous grades)
- "Hot Tips for Teachers" (information which helps the teacher with drug-specific or activity-specific concerns)
- "Teaching/Learning Strategies"
- "Assessments of Learning" (evidence of student learning and assessment tools)
- "Rubric for Levels of Assessment"
