Continuing Medical Education (CME) Frequently asked questions

Do you have to be a doctor to register for a CME course?
Although the target audience for CME courses is physicians, the courses are open to other health professionals.

Are registration fees for CME courses waived for CAMH staff members?
All participants registered for CME courses including CAMH staff members pay the same registration fee.

Can I register for CME courses over the phone?
Yes, registration can be done over the phone with a credit card.

Do CME courses receive accreditation?
Certificates of completion, including contact hours, are provided at the end of each CME course. For family physicians and psychiatrists, for every hour of the course they will receive one credit.

Is enrolment for CME courses limited?
There are 2 instructors per session of the course and enrollment is limited to keep participant-to-instructor ratios low.

If I need to cancel, can I get a refund?
Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing prior to the date identified on the course brochure and are subject to a handling fee of $50.00.

Do you ever cancel courses?
We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrolment. In this event a full refund of the registration funds will be issued. Our liability extends only to refunding the course registration fee.

I know that I will be away from a particular session, can I get the handouts for that session?
Participants who are miss sessions will be forwarded copies of the materials distributed at that specific session either by mail or at the next scheduled session.

Is vegetarian food available at your courses?
For courses where meals are included in the registration fee, vegetarian options are available and do not need to be specifically requested.
