Recognition in Research: C.O.R.E Awards 2006
Congratulations. Good job. Well done. Thank you. A few kind words of recognition can means so much to people. In our busy
days, we don’t always take time to recognize the people around us, and help ensure they get the encouragement they need to
keep doing a great job. The CAMH Outstanding Research Employee Awards (C.O.R.E) program is changing this for the Research
Program. In just two years, the C.O.R.E Awards has become a signature event that is setting the standard for recognition in
Research.
For Kimberly Lewis-Ng the C.O.R.E Award experience has been very meaningful. As both a 2005 nominee and 2006 recipient, Kimberly
was touched that her colleagues took the time to nominate her. Said Kimberly, “I really appreciated being recognized for the
specific contributions my co-workers outlined in the nominations.”
Her experience prompted Kimberly to join the planning committee. She feels the C.O.R.E Awards are a really positive initiative.
“It’s a great experience seeing so many individuals being recognized for doing excellent work, and I want to continue to support
this kind of recognition,” said Kimberly.
As planning begins for the 2007 C.O.R.E Awards, Kimberly will join her fellow committee members and help grow an event that
focuses positive feedback, embodies CAMH values, and supports client based business. Working with volunteers from across Research,
this team will continue to build a culture of excellence, and increase motivation and productivity, all by saying thank you.

In 2006, the committee was thrilled to receive 32 C.O.R.E nominations for research employees and students. New in 2006, the
student award recognized a graduate student who made an outstanding contribution within his or her research study area. Coming
in from across the various departments, staff and student nominations were filled with overwhelming praise and countless examples
of the talents, innovation, and integrity of the nominees.
