The purpose of the 1999 CAMH Monitor is three-fold. First, it describes the extent of substance use (alcohol, tobacco and cannabis use) and impaired mental health among Ontario adults in 1999. Second, it examines correlates and risk factors related to substance use. Third, based on 14 surveys conducted between 1977 and 1999, it examines aggregate trends in substance use.
