Media Advisory
For Immediate Release - June 30, 2004 (Toronto): The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Workman Theatre Project (WTP) have transformed the outer mezzanine of the cafeteria at their Queen Street site into a permanent studio space - the
Jean Simpson Studio - and the walls of their building into an Art Gallery as the fifth Annual Being Scene Art Exhibition gets underway on June 30th, 2004. To mark the occasion and celebrate the opening of the studio, the Lieutenant Governor
of Ontario, the Honourable James K. Bartleman, will provide the opening remarks.
The Being Scene Art exhibition - now in its fifth year - has in the past featured the work of renowned artists such as Danae
Chambers, Peter Smith and Henry Benvenuti. All of the artists involved receive or have received services from CAMH. This
year's juried art exhibition features 76 works by 53 artists. Lasting for a full year, the art exhibition is displayed in
the hallways of the different CAMH locations.
