National Non-Smoking Week Begins Today!
National Non-Smoking Week Begins Today!
Running from January 15-21, this national initiative is a time to support and encourage those who have taken the steps to
quit smoking and encourage others to do the same. Weedless Wednesday is the highlight of the week, when smokers are encouraged
to go a day without smoking. This can be a challenge for some, but can be the first step to living life smoke-free.
Thousands of agencies participate by holding events and raising awareness about the dangers of smoking and reminding Canadians
that it is never too late to quit. As a leader in tobacco research - with teams such as the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) and CAMH's Nicotine Dependence Clinic - CAMH understands the importance of a smoke-free environment, becoming a smoke-free
facility in September of last year.
