Realtors make major donation to Suits Me Fine clothing program

The CAMH Suits Me Fine clothing program received a very generous donation of $10,000 in December 2009, from the REALTORS Care Foundation to purchase clothing for CAMH clients. The REALTORS Care Foundation is a charitable program, created by the Ontario Real Estate Association, which supports shelter-related charities in Ontario, and comes from an organization with values that are in concert with those of CAMH.

Suits Me Fine would like to extend a big thank you to long time supporter, Barry Lebow, who played a key role in facilitating the donation. Barry is a professional real estate broker and an incredibly generous supporter of the Suits Me Fine program in his own right. Barry, recognizing the significant need for and the importance of providing CAMH clients with clothing and other essentials, put CAMH staff in touch with the good people at the REALTORS Care Foundation.

“Our clients need clothing. Whether it is a job interview, an appointment, a wedding or a funeral, Suits Me Fine provides the right outfit for the occasion”, says Norma Mcdowall, CAMH Volunteer Coordinator for Research and Special Populations and the Suits Me Fine program.

“This $10,000 will provide the Suits Me Fine program with a much-needed boost to purchase new undergarments, sweat pants and other much need clothing for our clients and we are very grateful to the donors,” Norma adds.

The Suits Me Fine boutique provides clients with some of life’s necessities, which in turn help them overcome some of the challenges they face in overcoming stigma, strained financial resources, job loss or even homelessness.
