Mental Illness Awareness Week - engaging the public through social media

CAMH raises awareness about mental health and addictions issues through Facebook and Twitter

Lots of people spend time ‘tweeting’ and ‘friending’ through social networking sites Twitter and Facebook. CAMH joined the conversation this spring to engage the public about mental health and addiction issues through media where they feel most at home.

During Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 4-10) we invite you to increase your awareness of the issues by following CAMH on Twitter http://twitter.com/CamhMediaUpdate and becoming a fan on Facebook  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Toronto-ON/CAMH-Centre-for-Addiction-and-Mental-Health/31568214052?v=wall&viewas=587945869.

What's happening during Mental Illness Awareness Week?

  • Tune in to the New Flow 93.5 to hear a series of public service announcements featuring CAMH clients courageously share stories of their struggles with addiction and mental illness to encourage others to seek help.
  • Watch for more details about the CAMH Foundation's "Unmasked" fundraiser happening October 14.
  • Read more stories about improving care and reducing stigma around the world, and the work of CAMH's volunteer program.
