Mondays and Thursdays, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

CAMH, Queen Street site
1001 Queen Street West

Since 2002, the Sunshine Market Garden has been helping CAMH clients take their first steps into the world of paid employment, providing them with a safe environment to expand their skills while receiving hourly wages.

The program is immensely popular with the clients, who do the planting, weeding and harvesting of organic vegetables, as well as selling from a stand in front of the Queen Street site on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

The Sunshine Market Garden is a partnership between CAMH's Vocation, Education and Rehabilitation Services (VERS) and Foodshare, a non-profit organization that runs a variety of programs including co-operative buying systems, collective kitchens and community gardens in Toronto.

In 2005, the program won a Green Toronto Award of Excellence in the Health category from the City of Toronto in 2005. The award honours and celebrates leading companies, organizations and individuals who have contributed to the greening of Toronto.

Come on out to purchase healthy, organic food to feed your mind and body.
