Celebrating the Life and Work of Dr. L.S. Penrose in Canada, 1939-45

Sir Roger Penrose, FRS., is the distinguished guest speaker.

The Friends of the CAMH Archives, in collaboration with the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry, is pleased  to announce that a fundraising dinner will be held to celebrate the life and work of  Dr. L.S. Penrose in Canada. Sir Roger Penrose, FRS., eminent mathematician and cosmologist, has generously agreed to talk about his father Lionel Penrose, psychiatrist, research scientist and pioneer geneticist.

This celebratory dinner will be held at the Faculty Club, 41, Willcocks Street, Toronto on Monday, March 23, 2009  from 5:30- 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner, costing  $200.00 p.p. , are  available from  Friends of the Archives, Room 1020,  Administration  Building, CAMH, 1001, Queen Street West, Toronto, M6J 1H4. Charitable tax receipts for $100.00 will be provided. The proceeds from this event will added to the Dr. J.D.M. Griffin bursary fund for students undertaking archival research in the fields of psychiatry, mental health services, and the addictions.
