Volunteers provide invaluable contributions to CAMH through their involvement in clinical care, research and special events.  Volunteer Resources provides opportunities for volunteers to expand their awareness and knowledge of mental health and addictions issues.  Our volunteer force of over 850 people reflects the diversity of our community and draws on a wide range of skills and backgrounds.

CAMH’s client centred philosophy of care recognized that each client has individual social, physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs.  The volunteer programs are designed to address these needs and promote a healthy workplace for our volunteers to excel in.

Volunteer Mission

To provide volunteer resources that augments existing programs throughout CAMH and help to fill service gaps so that we may enhance and enrich the quality of life for CAMH clients. 

Commitment

All volunteer placements are a one-year renewable commitment.  Time commitments range from 2-8 hours per week depending on the volunteer placement.
