Partnerships
Employment Support and Development (ESD) participates in many innovative partnerships to assist individuals who have mental
health and addiction histories to obtain work experience and skills training. ESD is part of the Community Support and Research
Unit (CSRU), at CAMH.
Foodshare
ESD has partnered with FoodShare; an organization improving access to healthy food, to offer work opportunities to individuals
with addiction and mental health histories. ESD staff work closely with FoodShare staff to identify job opportunities and
recruit suitable candidates to match the skills required for positions.
Also in partnership with FoodShare, ESD clients are able to work in the Sunshine Organic Garden and Greenhouse at the Queen street site. Here clients harvest fresh fruits and vegetables and assist with selling organic produce to the
community. This work experience assists clients with their recovery and re-entry into the workforce.
George Brown College
Through a partnership with the Academic Upgrading and Career Entrance Program (ACE) at George Brown College, clients are able
to develop skills necessary for college entrance. Strong linkages also exist with the Assistant Cook Extended Training (ACET)
and Construction Craft Worker Extended Training (CCWET) at George Brown College
The Job Opportunity Information Network (JOIN)
CAMH ESD is a member of the Job Opportunity Information Network (JOIN), which assists persons living with disabilities to
