Getting Help
|
Who we help at the PRIME Clinic
The PRIME (Prevention through Risk Identification, Management and Education) Clinic can help anyone who:
-
is experiencing mental or emotional changes that make them or their family, friends or doctor concerned that they might be
developing a psychotic illness.
-
is experiencing some worrisome changes in their functioning at work, school or socially.
People who have a family member who has a mental illness, and who are now experiencing their own difficulty functioning, are
also considered to be at risk. Such people are encouraged to contact us.
The PRIME Clinic does not see:
-
people who are currently experiencing psychotic symptoms that are disorganizing or disabling. The PRIME Clinic would refer
these people to more appropriate care in our First Episode Psychosis Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
-
people who are experiencing neurological problems.
