The PRIME Clinic: How we help
The PRIME (Prevention through Risk Identification, Management and Education) Clinic is committed through clinical work and
research to:

respond as quickly as possible to the help-seeking requests of clients and families who are worried about possible psychosis
or changes that are difficult to understand

improve our understanding of the development of psychosis
-
attempt to reduce current symptoms or concerns such as depression, negative symptoms, anxiety
-
work to find new ways to prevent the increase in symptoms that are indicative of risk of psychosis
-
offer guidance around relationship, social and vocational problems
-
help find ways that may lead to improved functioning and quality of life
The PRIME Clinic offers:

extensive initial assessments
-
ongoing follow up assessments
-
through our medical staff, a range of assessments that includes blood tests, neurological and physical examinations

psychiatric consultation
-
psychiatric management if required
-
different types of psychotherapy that may help
-
help with psychosocial issues
-
referrals to services that may be more appropriate for the presenting symptoms or concerns
For families:
Family members are very much part of the PRIME Clinic and have the opportunity to receive support and information. We offer
"Family and Friends" information sessions and can help families find appropriate resources in their own communities.
