Step Three: Contact Them

Once you have identified a place that looks interesting, call the number. Explain to the contact person that you are interested in the room/apartment/house and would like to know more about it. Make sure that the place has everything on your 'Needs' list and is within your price range. If the place sounds like somewhere you are interested in, ask the contact person for details on how to apply.

If you do not have a phone, visit a housing help centre, drop in centre, community centre or shelter in your area. Most of these places have a telephone that you can use for the purpose of house hunting. Another option is to visit the place directly if you are given the address of the main office.
