Getting Help

Vocational Services Council at CAMH

We value the importance of work and education in people's lives and recognize the important role it plays in the process of recovery and well-being. Vocational Services Council members are active in management, providing vocational counseling, job development, job coaching, employment support, GED services and education and training. Vocational Services Council members are actively involved in the CAMH strategic direction of Client Employment Initiatives.

The Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practioners and the practice guidelines of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals guide Council members in their practice.

Field placements are provided for students from the York Seneca program in Rehabilitation and the George Brown College program in Career and Work Counseling.

The Vocational Services Council at CAMH is chaired by the Discipline Chief and members attend monthly meetings. This provides a forum for staff to meet, discuss and act on practice, education, and research issues.
