Supportive Housing and Diversity Group
The Supportive Housing and Diversity Group (SHAD) is a Toronto-based multi-agency partnership that was established in 2002
to improve housing stability and reduce homelessness for racialised and minority ethnic clients with mental health and addictions
issues. Sajedeh was one of the co-founders of SHAD and the principal investigator of the Best Practices in Developing Culturally Competent Anti-Oppressive Supportive Housing Models Project, which was a one-year partnership project between CAMH and SHAD, funded by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
This project has resulted in the production of a toolkit entitled Home for All: What supportive housing agencies can do to be anti-oppressive and culturally competent. Sajedeh is currently supporting SHAD in the development of a training manual and delivering a workshop series for supportive
housing providers, utilizing the developed toolkit.
