Antoine Derose - Health Equity

Antoine incorporated activities that address local MHA priorities in HE plans and engaged communities, other experts and key stakeholders (staff, internal players, etc.) in Area HE plan development, implementation and evaluation. He represents the Toronto Region FLHS Planning and Support Committee on the Health Equity Council where he assists in the planning, development and implementation of French Language Health Services.

Antoine collaborates with OASIS Centre des femmes and the FLS Mental Health and Addiction Network of Toronto. At the Building Equitable Partnerships Symposium Antoine delivered two workshops outlining key elements involved in equitable relationship building and assessment of the agencies serving francophone readiness for an equitable partnership.

Antoine continues to pursue opportunities to utilize and strengthen community engagement with the African Canadian community.  In September 2008, an activity and focus group report, Developing a New Service Model for Canadians of African Descent, was presented to the communities involved in the issue (clinicians, educators, community service workers, community agencies, government officials) with the goal of bringing about environmental and behavioral change to improve the health of the  community.
