Jennifer serves the Eastern Ontario Area as an education and training specialist and as a consultant serving Renfrew and Lanark
Counties.
Eastern Ontario Summer Institute in Mental Health and Addictions
Jennifer leads the Eastern Ontario Summer Institute in Mental Health and Addiction which offers professional development courses
in the fields of mental health and addiction for service providers and allied professionals, focussing on fundamental topics
as well as emerging issues. Offered in Partnership with Providence Care – Mental Health Services (Kingston), the Royal Ottawa
Health Care Group, other community organizations the Summer Institute is held in June each year. The 2010 event is tentatively
scheduled for June 9-11, 2010 at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
CAMH Healthy Aging Project
Jennifer is the Project Leader for the CAMH Healthy Aging Project, developing publications and training for those working
with older adults in a variety of capacities. The project is aimed at improving the rates of identification, screening, assessment,
referral, treatment and over all community capacity to support older adults who may have a problem with substance use, mental
health or gambling.
Improving Our Response to Older Adults with Substance Use, Mental Health and Gambling Problems: A Guide for Supervisors, Managers
and Clinical Staff
This new Guide provides the information, tools and guidance that service providers need to work more effectively with older

Making the Connection Work: Identification and Support for Older Adults with Mental Health and/or Substance Use Problems
The aim of this one-day community-based training event is to improve the knowledge, comfort and skill of service providers
who work with older adults who may have problems with mental health and/or substance use. A secondary objective is to improve
overall community capacity to respond by “making the connection” at a local level between addiction service providers, mental
health professionals and other older adult care providers. Developed by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)
Healthy Aging Project in partnership with the PIECES Consult Group and other community partners. If you are interested in
