Suicide Prevention

Local Projects: Program Consultant - Cheryl Vrkljan, Hamilton Office, CAMH

Cheryl helps to increase public awareness of mental health, mental illness and suicide by working with the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH).  SPCCH hosts an annual conference in Hamilton each year drawing local, provincial and national level speakers and offers both education and skills based workshops.  For more information on the conference please visit www.spcch.org.

Cheryl also participates on a Hamilton based education and awareness committee which organizes regular A.S.I.S.T. (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) workshops and develops suicide prevention resources.   As well, Cheryl is a member of the suicide prevention strategy workgroup that will produce a suicide prevention strategy for the City of Hamilton.
