About CAMH

Social Factors and Prevention Interventions Section

In the Social Factors and Prevention Interventions Section, our research identifies environmental factors (e.g., social, physical, cultural) and individual factors (e.g., personality, predisposition, risk, protection) that are associated with mental health and substance use and addictions problems. We then use this knowledge to develop and evaluate research-driven interventions to reduce the occurrence and severity of such problems. We work in a multidisciplinary environment, conduct basic and applied social research, develop interventions, manage large scale evaluations, and work with a range of community and other local, national and international partners.
