Health Systems Research and Consulting Unit (HSRCU)
The Health Systems Research and Consulting Unit (HSRCU) acts as a base for the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry's
Health System Program. Unit members are involved in a variety of quantitative and qualitative research projects. In parallel
to its extensive research agenda the HSRCU is committed to the training of future mental health service researchers and is
a site for the national Canadian Insitutes of Health Research (CIHR) training program Research in Addictions and Mental Health
Policy and Services (RAMHPS). Our goal is to nurture researchers who can bridge research, policy and practice environments
in the area of addictions and mental health. The Unit has over twenty years of research and consulting experience in mental
health system planning and policy development. Our consulting approach is research-based and attempts explicitly to apply
the available research evidence of best/better practices to the problem at hand.
