About CAMH

Biopsychology Section

Head: Dr. Paul Fletcher
The major focus is on the role that various brain neurotransmitter systems play in controlling behaviour. At present, there is particular interest in the serotonin and dopamine systems and the interactions between these systems. The section conducts a broad range of work, encompassing studies directed toward understanding neurochemical mechanisms involved in addictive behaviours, cognitive behaviours relevant to schizophrenia, as well as the mode of action of antipsychotic drugs.
