About CAMH

Regional Services: Priority Programs

Our efforts are focused on three main areas: youth, concurrent disorders (those who experience both mental health and addiction challenges), and diverse populations (women, gay/lesbian/ bisexual/ transgendered, seniors, those with literacy difficulties, race/culture/ ethnicity, new Canadians, language barriers, religious beliefs).

Listed below are these priorities with their strategic objectives:

The Youth Area will work to increase the capacity of parents, youth, educators, youth related services and other community organizations to prevent and/or reduce problems associated with substance abuse and other mental health issues among youth.

The Concurrent Disorders Area will work to Improve the capacity of the Mental Health and Addiction systems and the ability of service providers in Ontario to meet the needs of people affected by concurrent disorders.

The Diversity Area will work to increase the capacity of mental health and addictions systems, and enhance the ability of service providers and community organizations to meet the needs of diverse communities in Ontario, while simultaneously empowering diverse communities to prevent and/or reduce problems associated with mental health and addictions.
