Geriatric Admission Unit (GAU)

GAU is an acute, admission unit which focuses on stabilization of acute psychiatric crisis or management of acute behavioral disturbances in the elderly. These disturbances may be related to cognitive impairment, psychosis or substance misuse. The ultimate goal is to reintegrate the client into the community.

Referral Required: Yes. Inpatient transfers from outside facilities are processed through Central Intake or the PACE clinics.
