Addiction Clinical Consultation Service

The Addiction Clinical Consultation Service is designed to serve Health and Social Service professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, occupational health staff, social workers, correctional staff, addiction workers and others who care for clients who have alcohol and drug problems. Addiction Clinical Consultation team includes experienced clinicians from medical, psychosocial and pharmacy areas. The Addiction Clinical Consultation Service (ACCS) is not designed to deal with health emergencies. If your client's health is in immediate danger, he or she should be referred to the nearest available hospital emergency department.The ACCS aims to provide advice on:

  • medical complications of drug and alcohol use 
  • management of clients with addiction problems 
  • counselling for individuals, couples and families 
  • alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs, prescription >and over-the-counter drugs 
  • drug interactions 
  • concurrent disorders.

Notes: Staff will assess your query, contact the appropriate consultant team (medical, psycho-social or pharmacy), and provide relevant information and materials. A consultant will return your call within four hours.
