Back on Track - Program Management

Since September 30, 1998, drivers in Ontario convicted of driving while impaired must take a remedial program before the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will reinstate their drivers licence. The Centre manages the province-wide Ontario's Remedial Measures Program "Back on Track" on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC). The Program Management office provides:

  • information on the program and requirements for drivers convicted of driving while impaired;
  • registers drivers for remedial measures programs throughout the province of Ontario, including fee payments from drivers;
  • provides information on enrolling for a program with service providers in approximately 30 locations throughout the province;
  • provides overall information to outside agencies about the remedial measures program and
  • liaises with the MOHLTC and MTO.

Contact: Drivers who have not yet registered or paid the program fee, or who have a question about registration, should contact the Program Management Office at  (416) 595-6593 or toll-free in Ontario at  1 (888) 814-5831. Program and registration information is also available through our Web site (http://www.remedial.net) and by fax at (416) 595-6735.
