Back on Track - Program Management
Since September 30, 1998, drivers in Ontario convicted of driving while impaired must take a remedial program before the Ministry
of Transportation (MTO) will reinstate their drivers licence. The Centre manages the province-wide Ontario's Remedial Measures
Program "Back on Track" on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC). The Program Management office provides:
-
information on the program and requirements for drivers convicted of driving while impaired;
-
registers drivers for remedial measures programs throughout the province of Ontario, including fee payments from drivers;
-
provides information on enrolling for a program with service providers in approximately 30 locations throughout the province;
-
provides overall information to outside agencies about the remedial measures program and
-
liaises with the MOHLTC and MTO.
