Research Ethics Board
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) recognizes that research is an essential component in the provision and
enhancement of care for clients with psychiatric and/or addictive disorders. CAMH also recognizes that special conditions
exist when conducting research involving vulnerable clients. The Research Ethics Board (REB) ensures that only research that
meets the highest ethical and scientific standards is conducted under CAMH auspices.
The Research Ethics Board is accountable through the Ethics Committee of the Board to the CAMH Board of Trustees.
Ethical standards conform to the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS), Division
5 of the Canadian Food and Drug Regulations and the International Committee on Harmonization of Good Clinical Practice.
