Income Maintenance Advocacy

The Income Maintenance Advocacy Program (IMAP) of the Community Support and Research Unit (CSRU) ensures that clients of the CAMH receive the maximum amount of income supports they are entitled to. 

IMAP provides a range of services to help clients access and maintain income supports1, including  Services include:

  • assessing clients' eligibility for income support,
  • developing and implementing income maintenance strategies,
  • assisting clients to access all benefits they are entitled to,
  • assisting clients in appeal processes,
  • administering the Personal Needs Allowance for eligible inpatients,
  • advocating on behalf of clients, and
  • providing education to clients and family members, staff, and associated community agencies regarding income support programs.
