About CAMH

Toronto Drug Treatment Court (DTC)

Provides court supervised treatment for individuals addicted to cocaine and/or opiates who have been charged with possession of, or trafficking in, small quantities of crack/cocaine or heroin, or with property offences in order to support their drug use, or with prostitution-related offences . Clients participate in a structured outpatient program with extensive case management services. Upon successful completion of the program, which lasts approximately one year, clients receive a non-custodial sentence, rather than incarceration.

The DTC is a partnership between the Centre, the Ontario Court of Justice, the federal Department of Justice and many community agencies. The program is open to non-violent offenders with the charges described above. Entry into the program is voluntary: prospective clients need to apply through their lawyer and/or Duty Counsel at Old City Hall.

Contact: For more information regarding legal considerations call the Duty Counsel Office at (416) 594-9300. For information regarding treatment call (416) 595-6128
