About CAMH

Metro Addiction Assessment Referral Service (MAARS)

The Metro Addiction Assessment Referral Service at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health offers addiction assessment and referral services free of charge to anyone who lives in Toronto. At MAARS we serve people of all ages, backgrounds, orientations and cultures, and place special emphasis on reaching out to people who may have difficulty finding the right resources.

In early May 2008, MAARS has moved from 175 College Street to 33 Russell Street (closest intersection is College and Spadina)

In July 2008, MAARS implemented its new Information Session that provides more immediate access to service. The purpose of the information session is to encourage clients to take further steps in the process of getting help, demystifying the addiction treatment system, to provide clients with take-home strategies to begin make changes, to discuss treatment philosophies, and to prepare clients for the next steps in the assessments.

The Information Sessions will run twice per week: on Tuesday mornings and on Thursday afternoons and take about 1 ½ hours (registration required). Following the session, clients will register for a face-to-face assessment with a clinician at MAARS (in certain circumstances assessments can be booked without attending an information session).
