About CAMH

Swine Flu Pandemic: April 30, 2009

CAMH is taking all the responsible steps necessary to respond to the current H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) outbreak, which is now designated as a Pandemic Level 5.

CAMH’s Pandemic Task Force is partnering with the other Toronto teaching hospitals through the Toronto Academic Health Services Network (TAHSN) on a coordinated response, in alignment with the City, Province and Federal Governments. CAMH has a Pandemic Influenza Plan and internal strategies in place to respond to a pandemic.

You too can prepare by washing your hands, covering your cough, and staying home if you are ill.

If you are a CAMH client and you feel sick with flu, let us know BEFORE coming in to CAMH for your appointment. Symptoms of swine flu include high fever, headache, eye pain, shortness of breath and extreme fatigue, with a progression of symptoms to severe respiratory distress. We are asking people NOT to come to CAMH while they have the flu unless they require mental health and addiction services urgently.

CAMH has an information brochure (PDF) for clients and families on flu pandemics available in English or French (PDF).
