Constituency Member Model

The Constituency Member model is a unique method for ensuring a broadly-based and representative membership in an organization. At CAMH, the Constituency Membership was created for the new organization so that its Voting Members would be drawn from a broad range of constituencies.

The Members meet twice a year.  They vote at CAMH's Annual General Meeting and elect the Board of Trustees.  In addition, because of the diversity of their backgrounds and experience, Members are able to provide valuable feedback to CAMH.  Member feedback has helped CAMH to develop such fundamental plans and programs as the CAMH's Strategic Plan and diversity program.

The Constituency Membership is made up of 70 members, representing:

  • Consumers (14)
  • Families (7)
  • Community Mental Health Agencies (6)
  • Community Addictions Agencies (6)
  • Public Health Agencies (6)
  • Academic Sector (4)
  • Members At Large (19)
  • CAMH Unionized Employees (4)
  • CAMH Non-unionized Employees (4)
